Built in 1480 Château de Beaulon is one of the oldest and most authentic jewels (Gothic/Renaissance) to be found in the Saintonge region and is listed as a Historical Monument. Once again a private dwelling in 1712, Chateau de Beaulon now belongs to Christian Thomas who has not only protected and preserved this heritage but has also, with his customary enthusiasm, established Château de Beaulon's reputation for 'exceptional quality' both in France and internationally.

90 hectares of vineyards are currently in production. They benefit from two key factors, a chalky soil with natural drainage capacity and a climate similar to that of the Médoc region - sunny, mild, humid and temperate - ideal for the Sauterne type vine stocks (Sémillon and Sauvignon) and those of the Médoc (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot), stocks specifically chosen by Château de Beaulon for its White Pineau and Red Pineau, contrary to the vast majority of other wine growers who favour Ugni Blanc. For Cognac they remain loyal to the traditional vine stocks used for 4 centuries at Château de Beaulon : Folle Blanche, Colombard and Montils which produce excellent, fruity eaux de vie and contribute to the harmony and elegance of the Château's Pineaux together with some Ugni Blanc. Chateau de Beaulon is listed in the top-class restaurants across the world.
